| Do we / all guests have access to the heated outdoor pool? | To answer your question, yes, the main hotel pool is heated and is accessible to all our guests regardless of the room they are staying in. | How can I get from Canto de Luz to Lisbon Airport ? | To get from Canto De Luz to Lisbon Airport, I’ve prepared for you some recommendations here, including flights : Google Maps Directions. There are shuttle flights from Lisbon to Porto which take an hour. You can take the highspeed train from Porto Campanha station which is about 15 mins by car from Canto De Luz – the journey takes around 3 hours. But then you need to transfer from the station to the airport which takes another 20 minutes by car. There are also direct bus services from Porto to Lisbon which are about as quick as the train. Finally, we can provide a private transfer service if you would like a price for that just connect to one of my colleagues and they will be happy to help. | What time is check-out ? | Checkout is at 10:30 AM, but we can often extend it a little if you ask during your stay. You can store your bags in our luggage store on departure day. Your code is active on the main entrance until 19:00, so you can retrieve them. This way you can make the most of your last day in the city. If you have any other questions or need assistance, feel free to ask! 😊 |
| Is there an electric kettle in the room ? | Yes – all our suites feature electric hot water kettles to make teas and herbal teas (which are also provided), as well as an Nespresso Espresso coffee machine and capsules. |
| Do you provide foreign exchange at the hotel? | I’m afraid we don’t have an exchange service. In fact the maison is cash-free since COVID and we only take card payments. |
| Are pets / dogs allowed? | Hi – I’m afraid that we are pet free at the Maison other than guide dogs. Hope you can find a doggie hotel for your furry friend and we can take great care of you here in Porto ! |
| Is breakfast included ? | Breakfast is included in all our daily rates. Our daily changing homemade breakfast is served in our beautiful Orangerie from 08:30 until 10:30 and can be optionally delivered to our villa or suites with kitchens by prior arrangement. If you are leaving early for a tour or flying out then let us know and we can arrange to leave a “to go” breakfast for you to take with you so you don’t leave hungry! 🍽️ |

Why are you asking for my credit card details? | Whilst your accommodation is booked an paid for by our online travel partner we ask for your card details to cover a pre-authorisation setup the day before arrival to cover any ancillary spend such as consumption during your stay incl Drinks, Activities, Transfers or Tours. If your booking platform has not covered City Tax or Service Fees these may also be collected via your card. |

It features a superking double or 2 single beds, an ensuite bathroom, and a private patio, making it perfect for families. We also have our beautiful Villa Almada which is 2 bedrooms and a private pool and garden with dining terrace and gas BBQ. Finally we have a two bedroom Urban retreat apartment which could be a good choice. 😊 |

| How much for a transfer from the airport to Canto De Luz | We offer a private transfer service where the driver will meet you at arrivals and bring you straight to the hotel. The most recent prices I have for that are €40 for a standard saloon car, or €65 for a 7 seater car. If you would like to book that service just go to the online check-in page link for your stay and add it via the customise my stay section. Other options are Uber or Bolt, which typically take around 20 minutes to reach La Maison. |
| what are check-in and check-out times? | Check-in is at 3 PM, and checkout is at 10:30 AM. However, we always offer free early check-in if possible, and usually can extend checkout a little if you ask during your stay. Even if we can’t you are welcome to leave your bags when you arrive and join us for a welcome coffee. Your code is valid from 9am on the day of arrival for this very reason. | We have a flight that arrives in the morning. Can you offer early check-in ? | Checkin is at 3pm but we often can provide free early arrival though we only know for sure the night before. Even if we can’t your code is activate from 9am on the day of arrival so you can drop your bags, join us for a welcome coffee and then start to explore whilst our housekeeping team work their magic for you. You are also welcome to join us for breakfast on your arrival day, which is charged per person. Let us know in advance if you would like to add this as the kitchen team orders ingredients freshly each morning based on guest numbers. |
| Can we check-in late in the evening or after midnight as our flight arrives late ? | Yes – our team provide personal checking from 0700 until 2300, 365 days a year – If you are arriving on a late flight, then we provide an automated check-in where you can arrive any time using your personal code. We then complete the check-in the following morning after breakfast – Welcome to Porto. |
| Do the bedrooms each have a king size bed? | All of our suites and villas feature Superking (180cm wide) double beds that can be configured as two single beds. The only exceptions are the City Retreat Studio, which has a 160cm double bed that doesn’t split, and our lovely one-bedroom duplex garden retreat villas, which have Superking Double Beds that don’t split. If you have specific requirements, just let me know. |

| Is the pool heated ? | The main hotel pool is heated – the private pool at Villa Almada can optionally be heated for your stay at a daily fixed cost – we send a link to Villa guests the week before arrival so they can opt in to pool heating if they want it, knowing the weather forecast. |

| Are bathrobes and slippers provided ? | I’m afraid we don’t provide either bathrobes or slippers. In our bathrooms you can expect lovely Rituals products including Shampoo, Conditioner, Shower Gel, Handsoap and Body Lotion. We also provide large luxurious fluffy bath and hand towels and turkish towels to use at our heated pool if you will be swimming during your stay. |
| How many rooms are there in the hotel ? | Canto De Luz has 12 suites, apartments and villas in total, ranging from suites in the main maison with City and Garden views, Studio Apartments with fully equipped kitchens and dining zones and our 2 bedroom Urban Retreat apartment with private patio. Our villas are either 1 bedroom Garden Retreat Duplexes with their own private patios and outdoor space, as well as our lovely 2 bedroom Villa Almada which has its own private pool. The hotel is available for exclusive occupancy by request and can sleep a total of 30 guests when including the sofa beds that you will find in most of our rooms or living spaces. We also have travel cots for up to 4 infants, who stay free of charge when less than 24 months old. |

| We are a family of 5 – which room(s) should we book ? | You have a couple of choices – I would recommend either our 2 bedroom Villa Almada or our 2 bedroom Urban Retreat apartment. Villa Almada has 3 single sofa beds in the living room. Urban Retreat has a double sofa bed in each bedroom and also a double day bed. In total it can sleep 8 guests of which 6 can be adults. |
| Can you recommend a Douro Valley Tour ? | Yes – we partner with one of the top tour companies who provide two options for a full day tour to the beautiful Douro Valley. Choose from either a small group shared tour, or a premium private tour (private vehicle and premium vineyards). Both options are amazing and include lunch and a (shared) 1 hour boat tour on the Douro river as well as visits to 2 vineyards. Its a full day trip with pickup around 8am.
