MULTIGENERATIONAL STAYS AT THE MAISON

Multigenerational Hotel Stay in Porto Old Town, at Canto de Luz

My multigenerational hotel in Porto, Canto de Luz, was designed so grandparents, parents and kids share one roof without the bathroom queue, the noise wars, or the layout compromises that ruin a holiday. Adjoining family suites, elevator access throughout, wheelchair-friendly accessible rooms, a heated pool open every day of the year, and a daily homemade breakfast included in every rate. Three generations at the same table the morning after they arrive, nobody having to be the polite one.

Suites That Actually Work for Three Generations

  • Adjoining family suites for parents and kids to be near but not on top of each other
  • Maison suites with super-king beds for grandparents who want a quieter floor
  • Urban Retreat 2 Bedroom Apartment with a separate ensuite bedroom for the kids, a fully equipped kitchen and a private patio
  • Family suites with a single sofa bed for one older child sharing
  • Sister property Villa Almada in the same garden for groups that need a private-pool villa as well

Accessible Throughout

  • Elevator access on every floor
  • Wheelchair-friendly accessible suites
  • Step-free routes through the main public spaces
  • Walk-in showers with grab rails on request
  • Ground-floor breakfast in the Orangerie or in the garden
Tell me your accessibility needs when you book and I will match you to the right suite.

Breakfast That Works for Everyone

The Orangerie is the room three generations end up sharing across the holiday. Homemade breakfast is included in every rate. Grandparents take a slow coffee at the corner table, parents and kids order the kids’ menu, and the kitchen team will quietly bring waffles, hot chocolate and fresh juice for small guests.

Breakfast can also be delivered to family suites for the slow days when nobody wants to be the first one dressed.

A Heated Pool That Works for Every Generation

The outdoor pool is heated and open every day of the year, from 09:30 to 19:30, including January and February. Grandparents can do a slow length and sit beside, parents and older kids can swim properly, and toddlers can splash in the shallow end with someone always within view from a lounger.

Right in the Heart of Porto, for Mixed Pace

The Maison is on Rua do Almada, walkable to most of central Porto. The advantage of central Porto for a multigenerational group is choice of pace:
  • Grandparents can take Livraria Lello, Clérigos and São Bento on foot in a slow morning
  • Parents and older kids can take the Gaia gondola for sunset
  • The youngest can spend most of the day at the Maison and the pool
  • Everyone meets at the Orangerie for breakfast and at one of my recommended restaurants for dinner
  • Foz beach is twenty minutes by taxi for an afternoon out

Why Multigenerational Groups Choose the Maison

  • One small Maison, not three hotels for the same group
  • The whole family can share breakfast every morning in the Orangerie
  • Adjoining suites mean parents and kids stay close, grandparents stay quiet
  • Elevator and accessible rooms mean grandparents are not stuck at the bottom
  • Exclusive use is available for larger reunions, see my private Porto hotel page
