The outdoor pool is heated and open every day of the year, from 09:30 to 19:30. That means a January half-term works as well as an August week, the kids get a swim in winter, and your photographs from Porto don’t all look the same. The pool sits in our private garden, away from the street, with loungers, towels, and the Orangerie a few steps away for breakfast or a coffee.
Daily homemade breakfast is included in every rate. The kitchen team will quietly switch in waffles, pancakes, hot chocolate, Nutella and freshly squeezed orange juice for small guests, with a full healthy menu for the grown-ups alongside. Eat in the Orangerie, in the garden when the weather is right, or have it delivered to the family suite when nobody wants to be the first one dressed.
Canto de Luz is in Porto’s old town, a short walk from Livraria Lello, the Clérigos tower, São Bento station, and the riverside in Ribeira. The Gaia gondola is one tram ride away, Foz beach is twenty minutes by taxi, and the airport is around twenty-five minutes by car. Most of the things families come to Porto for are a walk away, so days out don’t start with a queue for a taxi.
For ideas, my top family-friendly places to visit in Porto with kids guide is the one I send most often.
