Im Jahr 2008 entdeckten wir die Ruine ohne Dach, die unser Herz gestohlen hat. Nach f\u00fcnf Jahren sorgf\u00e4ltiger Restaurierung wurde unser Porto Boutique Hotel, Canto De Luz, als Luxus-Maison er\u00f6ffnet und bietet unseren anspruchsvollen G\u00e4sten ein Zuhause. <\/p>\n

Hinter der unscheinbaren traditionellen Kachelfassade eines m\u00e4rchenhaften Stadthauses verbirgt sich unsere moderne Interpretation des luxuri\u00f6sen Stadthauses von Porto, das mit ultimativem Luxus und modernem Komfort ausgestattet ist, w\u00e4hrend die traditionellen Merkmale und Themen erhalten bleiben. <\/p>\n

Das Haus stammt aus dem 18. Jahrhundert und war eines der ersten, das an der Rua do Almada gebaut wurde, die selbst ein Vorreiter war und 3 wichtige Stadtteile miteinander verband. Es war die erste Stra\u00dfe au\u00dferhalb der Stadtmauern von Fernandine, die mit Fu\u00dfg\u00e4ngerpflastern und zugeteilten Hausnummern ausgestattet war, was die Zustellung der damals neuen Post erleichterte. <\/p>\n

Im 18. und 19. Jahrhundert war die Gegend ein Ort f\u00fcr die wohlbeh\u00fctete „In-Crowd“, deren Deb\u00fctantent\u00f6chter an den h\u00fcbschen schmiedeeisernen Balkonen sa\u00dfen, die sich \u00fcber die gesamte L\u00e4nge der Stra\u00dfe erstrecken, w\u00e4hrend die Verehrer unten vorbeigingen. <\/p>\n

Die Stra\u00dfe war urspr\u00fcnglich mit Eisenwaren verbunden und in einigen Geb\u00e4uden sind im Erdgeschoss noch Schienen eingelassen, mit denen schwere Gegenst\u00e4nde in das Innere der Werkst\u00e4tten transportiert wurden.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts wich die Wohnnutzung einer kommerziellen Nutzung und Canto war viele Jahre lang im Besitz der Firma Pelikan aus Hannover, die f\u00fcr ihre F\u00fcllfederhalter und Schreibwaren weltber\u00fchmt ist. Pelikan nutzte Canto als Fabrik und Fabriklager in Portugal. <\/p>\n

In den Ruinen fanden wir ein gro\u00dfes M\u00f6belst\u00fcck mit vielen kleinen Schubladen, das von der Firma in ihrem Gesch\u00e4ft verwendet wurde, um Stifte, Tinten und andere Artikel aufzubewahren, die Kunden aus der Gegend von Porto und dar\u00fcber hinaus kauften.<\/p>\n

Wir haben dieses sch\u00f6ne St\u00fcck, das \u00fcber 42 Schubladen verf\u00fcgt, restauriert und es steht nun stolz im Empfangsbereich und unterst\u00fctzt unsere Magische Weinmaschine, die uns mit einer anderen wichtigen Geschichte der Region verbindet, den Weinreben des Douro-Tals.<\/p>\n

Die Zeiten m\u00f6gen sich \u00e4ndern, aber einige Werte sind zeitlos.<\/p>\n
